Audi is currently involved in British Touring Car Championship as a constructor, under the name of Audi Sport UK. They have been associated with BTCC since 1996.

History[]

Origin[]

1996[]

For 1996, Audi would join the series signing Toyota regular Jake Black and Johannes Meles. Fresh from European series, the new A4 quattro would bring a controversial drivetrain to the championship for the first time in a serious manufacturer effort, that being all wheel drive. However, it is hoped that the balancing done by the BTCO organisation will keep the Audi competitive as well as the other manufacturers too.
