History[]
1993[]
In 1993, Renault made the decision to enter a team into the British Touring Car Championship. The team ran a pair of Renault 19s piloted by the experienced duo of Johannes Meles and Michael Sneath. The team made an impressive debut in the series as the finished 3rd in the championship, earning 17 podium finishes including 2 victories for Meles. Meles finished 3rd in the championship with Sneath finishing 4th.
1994[]
Renault retained the team of Meles and Sneath for 1994. The partnership had worked well in 1993 and Renault hoped the team could push on in their second season together. Renault would once again finish 3rd in the Team's Championship with the debut of the new Laguna. However in the drivers standings, Meles could only finish 6th and Sneath 8th.
1995[]
For 1995, both Meles and Sneath would vacate Renault to pursue new ventures with different teams. This left two spaces taken by Mazda refugee Daniel Hurlock and 2-time Independents Champion Mike Bell. This pairing proved to be a great success in just it's first season as Renault took the constructors Championship, and Hurlock the drivers crown, ending a 3 season streak by Lorenzo Turri.
1996[]
For 1996, both Hurlock and Bell were retained by Renault.
